The Operations program is of course a major attraction for prospective Auxiliarists. However, the Coast Guard regards an Auxiliary safe boating class graduate who does NOT become the object of a search as a big win for the Auxiliary. This factor, combined with the fun of imparting knowledge to a group of interested students also makes the Auxiliary Public Education program a popular specialty, particularly those who really enjoy dealing with people.
