year and participates in others around Puget Sound.
Viking Fest - May 15 - 17
Kayaking is for everyone and
if you have not tried it this is the time. We are
offering free "Try It You'll Like It" demo
paddles at Liberty Bay Marina during Viking Festival.
Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m..
Children 14 and younger must be chaperoned on the water
by an adult at all times.
Puget Sound Sea Kayak
Festival - May 25
West Sounds premier sea kayak
event. Beginner to advanced paddlers love this event for
its informative seminars, on-water paddling demos, great
location in downtown Poulsbo, kids clinics, and
inexpensive registration fee. This year we are featuring
kayak skill improvement as a topic. Registration fee is
$20 + tax per person and includes all activities and a
T-shirt. Kids 14 and younger are FREE (T-shirt $10
extra).
Kayak Gear Swap - June 28
Do you have kayak gear that you
aren't happy with? YES! Then bring it to the second
annual Kayak Gear Swap. Here, you can sell, trade, or
upgrade any paddle equipment. Items that haven't found a
new owner can be donated to Camp Indianola's youth kayak
program. Swap starts at 10 a.m. and concludes at 4 p.m.
Pt Orchard Event - July 11
We are looking for one or more
teams of 3 students from each high school in Kitsap
County to join us for this free kayak event. Participants
compete on a short course for fun and prizes. No
experience necessary. Held on Saturday, July 11th.
Preregistration required. Call OOC at (360) 697-6095 for
an application.
Dock Boy Olympics - August
24
The third annual Dock Boy Olympics
will be held at Olympic Outdoor Center's dock, in the
Poulsbo Marina. Come see defending champion, Greg Braun,
try to retain his medal in such events as the kayak death
walk, kayak roundup, the piling slalom, and more. Catch
all the action from our excellent observation deck. There
will be an awards ceremony following the games.
West Coast Sea Kayak
Symposium - September 17 - 20
Come to Port Townsend and attend
the largest sea kayak event in the world. OOC sets up a
mini-store where there are BARGAINS GALORE on kayaks,
paddling jackets, paddles, and hundreds of other items.
Come see us in the big tent! Don't miss it, registration
forms are available at our Poulsbo store.
Oyster Open Surf Festival -
October 3 - 4
Join us for a weekend of Surf fun
in your kayak. Sea Kayaks, Whitewater Kayaks, Surf
Kayaks, or any kayak will qualify for surfing the fun
waves at Westport, Washington. The festival registration
includes a T-Shirt, festival insurance, and banquet
raffle. Cost FREE if you just show up or $15 per person
for T-Shirt, Ticket to Raffle, and 5 raffle tickets. Kids
14 & younger FREE, includes everything but the
T-shirt. DonÕt know how to surf, join our surf class
(SK-7) held during the festival, see SK-7 in brochure for
costs.
Used Boat Clearance -
October 23 - 25
The fifth annual used boat sale is
the place to find the best deals on OOC used rental
equipment, boats, paddles, sprayskirts, and more! Plus,
additional sales throughout the store. Boats become
available immediately following the West Coast Sea Kayak
Symposium. First come, first serve!
